Visitors Invited to Play Nuclear-Themed Proliferation Game,
Explore Museum After Hours, More
The Atomic Museum invites strategy game enthusiasts to attend “Game Night at the Museum” co-hosted by the creative team from War Games LV. Taking place inside the Atomic Museum’s exhibit space on Friday, Aug. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m., attendees will be invited to play Proliferation*, the nuclear-themed tabletop strategy game.
As guests engage in thought-provoking gameplay and discussion, participants will select a player, expand their economy and engage in diplomacy, alliances and other tactics. Matches will be led by game creators from War Games LV while members of the Atomic Museum team will be on hand to answer questions about the history of nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site. In addition, guests can also explore the museum’s engaging exhibits after hours.
“‘Game Night at the Museum’ is designed to be a fun and casual evening offering guests the chance to meet new people and explore educational intersections with Atomic Museum content through play,” says Matt Malinowski, Atomic Museum director of education. “With these events, we hope to generate a sense of place at the museum, while expanding the audiences we serve and placing a spotlight on the local creative community that makes Las Vegas so vibrant.”
Tickets for “Game Night at the Museum” are $20 for all ages and include Atomic Museum admission. Minors must be accompanied by a paid adult, and advance purchase is required. Proliferation is recommended for ages 13 and up. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.
