Exhibition In First-Floor Grand Gallery Through Oct. 10, 2024
The “Spectacle of the Showgirl” exhibition opens today in the first-floor Grand Gallery at Las Vegas City Hall, 495 S. Main St. Presented by Grant Philipo’s Las Vegas Showgirl Museum, the exhibition explores the intersection of fashion, entertainment and cultural history. It celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship that define the performance art in a collection of iconic showgirl costumes that graced the legendary stages of the Las Vegas Strip. The free exhibition will be available for the public to enjoy Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through Oct. 10, 2024.
Also available to enjoy at Las Vegas City Hall is the “Artistic Attack” student art exhibit in the second-floor Chamber Gallery. This exhibition features artwork by 17 local youth who are students of artist/instructor Jenny Baham. The free exhibit is open to the public Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through Aug. 15, 2024.
Also opening today is the “Functional Can Be Fun” exhibition at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, located at 800 S. Brush St. This free exhibition of useful ceramic works of art presented by Clay Arts Vegas is open to the public Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m., through Nov. 13, 2024.
