Free Literary Event Returns To Downtown Las Vegas With Lectures, Activities, Workshops, Book Signings And More For All Ages
The Las Vegas Book Festival, now in its 23rd year, returns to downtown Las Vegas Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with John Waters. The free annual event is held in downtown Las Vegas at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St., and is open to all ages.
Author of 10 books and writer and director of 16 movies, Waters has been in the entertainment industry for over 50 years. His works include “Pink Flamingos,” “Hairspray,” “Cry-Baby” and his most recent book, “Liarmouth.” He is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Waters has been honored with the Writers Guild of America East’s Ian McLellan Hunter Award for his body of work as a writer in motion pictures and awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
A full schedule of activities that includes panel discussions, book signings, workshops and arts and crafts for children will be shared closer to the event.
