Formula 1® returns to racing with Five Lights, a new cinematic campaign voiced by Colin Farrell
Ahead of the season restart at Zandvoort on 21 August, Formula 1® has unveiled its new global marketing campaign, Five Lights, featuring all 22 drivers alongside the voice of Academy Award-nominated actor and Formula 1 fan Colin Farrell.
Running from 16 August to 13 September, the campaign centres on a high-impact 90-second film, supported by creative assets across social media and digital platforms. Throughout the campaign, Formula 1 will take over six iconic advertising locations across the UK and the US, including Piccadilly Circus and The Outernet in London, Sunset Boulevard, The Moxy and the Music District in Los Angeles, Times Square at the intersection of 45th Street and Broadway in New York, and Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip, bringing the campaign to some of the world’s most recognisable entertainment and cultural destinations.
The film explores one of Formula 1’s most recognisable and dramatic moments: the pre-race countdown. As each of the five lights illuminates, the audience is drawn deeper into the driver’s mindset, capturing the focus, anticipation and composure required to compete at the very limit of human and technical performance. Narrated by passionate F1 fan Farrell and set to the music track Reign by UNKLE featuring Ian Brown, the film steadily builds tension before the lights go out and the action is unleashed on track.
The campaign launches at the halfway point of another record-breaking year for Formula 1. The sport now boasts more than 830 million fans worldwide, while the 2026 season has delivered 11 consecutive sell-out Grands Prix and six new circuit attendance records. Formula 1 has also continued to strengthen its global footprint through rising television audiences, growing digital engagement and a diverse roster of commercial partners.
The FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN DUTCH GRAND PRIX 2026 marks the beginning of the second half of the season, with Mercedes leading both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships. Five Lights sets the stage for an exciting run to the finale, building anticipation among fans, teams and drivers alike as the championship battles intensify and the fight for Formula 1 glory continues.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer, Formula 1, said:
“Five Lights captures one of the most powerful moments in Formula 1, when anticipation, excitement and pressure all come together just before the race begins. As we return for the second half of what has already been an incredible season, we wanted to create something that reflects the emotion of our sport and the connection our fans feel with the teams and drivers every race weekend.”

FORMULA 1 TO RACE ON THE STREETS OF LAS VEGAS THROUGH 2037
Formula 1® will continue racing in Las Vegas, the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, through to 2037, following a new 10-year extension.
Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc., Clark County officials and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), have all committed to the long-term future of one of the standout events on both the United States and global sporting calendar.
Since debuting on the Formula 1 calendar in 2023, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has delivered $3.2 billion in cumulative economic impact for Southern Nevada, with all three races from 2023 through 2025 selling out and helping position Las Vegas among the sport’s marquee destinations worldwide. In 2025 alone, the race generated $43 million in state and local tax revenue, including $15 million allocated to support local K-12 education. Beyond its economic impact, the event continues to make a meaningful difference in the community through the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation, which has contributed more than $2 million to nonprofit organizations and created educational opportunities for hundreds of Clark County School District students and local community groups throughout the year.
Held in the heart of the destination and racing down the iconic Strip, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has become synonymous with world-class hospitality, entertainment and fan experience. It brings together leaders and audiences from across sport, entertainment, culture, and business, redefining what a Grand Prix can deliver as a full-scale destination experience in the United States.
The race – which also was featured in the world’s biggest ever sporting film, F1® The Movie – takes place on the 3.8mi/6.2km Las Vegas Strip Circuit®, where drivers exceed speeds of 200 mph/322 km/h while passing iconic landmarks including Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Wynn Las Vegas and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
On track, Max Verstappen has claimed victory twice (2023 and 2025), with George Russell winning in 2024 – the same year the event witnessed an incredible 113 overtakes and Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive FIA Formula One World Drivers’ Championship. Last year, Doriane Pin claimed the F1 ACADEMY™ title for the first time.
Additionally, Grand Prix Plaza – a 39-acre, multi-use complex and the world’s largest Formula 1 attraction – provides a hub for fans and the community, while giving students from across the region the opportunity to explore the links between STEM education and motorsport. Las Vegas Grand Prix and Grand Prix Plaza have recently been recognized at the 2026 Green Sports Alliance Summit for leadership in environmental innovation and their commitment to a net zero future.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said:
“We are thrilled that Formula 1 will continue racing in Las Vegas for many years to come. Since its debut in 2023, the event has been extraordinary, rapidly establishing itself as a premier destination for great racing, world-class entertainment, global business leaders, A-list celebrities and influencers. It has delivered a strong and lasting impact on the local economy and community. We always believed that Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of our presence in the United States, and this extension, together with the success of recent years, reinforces our long-term commitment to this important market. I would like to thank Las Vegas Grand Prix, Clark County, and the LVCVA for their continued support, passion and vision. The future is incredibly exciting, and we look forward to taking this event to even greater heights.”
Emily Prazer, President and CEO of Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. said:
“Securing a 10-year extension through 2037 is a defining moment for the Las Vegas Grand Prix and a reflection of the strength of our local partnerships. I’m incredibly proud of the team we have built in Las Vegas and our shared commitment to supporting the Southern Nevada community. We’re deeply grateful to the Clark County Commission, LVCVA, our resort partners and the broader Las Vegas community for their continued collaboration and support in bringing this event to life.
“Las Vegas is unlike anywhere else in the world, and its energy, hospitality and scale have played a major role in shaping what this race has become. This long-term extension allows us to continue delivering a world-class experience for our fans.”
Steve Hill, President and CEO of LVCVA, said:
“Extending our partnership with Formula 1 for the next decade is a major moment for both Las Vegas and the Grand Prix. In just three years, the race has become a signature global event – putting Las Vegas at the center of culture, competition and entertainment during race week. As the spotlight of the world turns to Las Vegas, the event continues to reinforce our evolution as a premier sports and entertainment destination. Built for spectacle and designed to host the world’s biggest moments, Las Vegas is proud to continue this dynamic partnership with Formula 1 for the next decade and beyond.”

- LEARN – Event Technical Center (ETC), Legacy of Formula 1 and F1 Factory:
- The first stop of F1® X is the “ETC,” a replica of a high-tech F1 broadcast center. Attendees journey into the recreated F1 control room – a command center that broadcasts the thrill of live races across the globe. This will include surprise appearances by very special guests, brought to life with cutting-edge hologram technology
- Fans then enter the “Legacy of Formula 1” room, executive produced by GP1X. This showcase explores the history, development and technology behind the sport’s high-stakes competition. New this year, devotees can design their own racing helmet and use an interactive avatar mirror to see themselves transform into a driver wearing a race suit. Historic racecars on display, courtesy of the Petersen Automotive Museum, include the 1987 Lotus 99T driven by Ayrton Senna, the 1994 Williams FW15D used for preseason testing by Damon Hill and Senna and the 1999 Ferrari F399 that secured Ferrari’s first World Constructors’ Championship in 16 years.
- Next, “F1 Factory” walks visitors through the evolution of the modern Formula 1 car and the craftsmanship behind the world’s fastest racing machines. Notable replicas include a 2023 Aston Martin front wing and nose, a 2024 Williams F1 Team steering wheel, a 2024 McLaren MCL38 driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri and more.
- CREATE- Design Studio: In the Design Studio, produced in partnership with Brian Burke Creative, fans bring their F1 vision to life. Guests customize a Formula 1 car using a cutting-edge digital workshop, which includes new colors, patterns and livery this year. Their creation is then projection-mapped onto a Formula 1 car for a fun photo opportunity.
- EXPERIENCE – Pit Stop Challenge, Pit Wall Experience, Drivers’ Briefing Room and 4D Theater:
- At the Pit Stop Challenge, fans will step into the garage and pit lane. They will work together as an elite pit crew, using real-world tools to jack the car, change the tires and get their machine back on track in record time.
- The Pit Wall Experience is a thrilling test of strategy and split-second decision-making. Modeled after a Grand Prix pit wall, it places guests in the role of an F1 race strategist, using real-time race communications from team engineers and drivers to make critical calls.
- In the Driver Briefing Room, guests explore the intense focus and athleticism required to become an F1 legend while waiting to step into the driver’s seat. Then it’s off to the newly updated 4D Theater, powered by Liminal Space’s proprietary Ghost Tile stereoscopic LED technology. The theater surrounds guests with holographic visuals that appear to hover and move through the air in real time.
