The roar of engines, the smell of racing fuel and the excitement of short-track competition returned to Las Vegas as The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway officially reopened with a grand re-opening celebration.
The Bullring Reignited event marked an exciting new chapter for the beloved short track, bringing together racing officials, drivers, community leaders, motorsports personalities and fans to celebrate the venue’s return.
Located at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, The Bullring has long been part of Southern Nevada’s grassroots racing culture. Its reopening gives local drivers and racing fans another place to experience the intensity and excitement of motorsports up close.
The celebration began at 10 a.m. as event gates opened, with music and DJ performances helping set the tone for the day. Guests could also grab food, water and coffee while exploring the venue and enjoying the festivities.
At 11 a.m., the official program got underway with Chet Buchanan, radio personality and the voice of NASCAR at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, serving as emcee.
A lineup of notable speakers highlighted the importance of The Bullring’s return, including Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick and Patrick Lindsey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The program also featured Tim Huddleston of CARS Tour and Kevin Harvick, Inc., NASCAR Hall of Fame driver and Las Vegas native Kurt Busch, Ryan Sage, President of Formula Drift, and Davey Hamilton Jr., promoter and driver with the Open Wheel Showdown.
Their participation reflected the broad reach of motorsports in Las Vegas, from grassroots short-track racing to professional racing series and the growing motorsports culture throughout Southern Nevada.
Cutting the Ribbon on a New Chapter
At 11:45 a.m., the celebration reached its official milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolically reopening The Bullring and welcoming racing back to the track.
For longtime racing fans, the moment represented more than simply reopening a facility. It was a celebration of a venue that has played a role in developing drivers, entertaining fans and contributing to the local racing community.
Following the ribbon cutting, members of the media had an opportunity to speak one-on-one with several of the event’s featured participants before the action continued on the track.
From the Podium to the Track
One of the highlights for attendees was the opportunity to experience drifting firsthand with drifting ride-along laps beginning at noon.
The ride-alongs provided an up-close taste of the precision, speed and excitement associated with drifting, giving guests an opportunity to experience motorsports from a very different perspective.
The combination of the ceremonial reopening, appearances by racing personalities and an opportunity to get on the track made the event feel like both a celebration of The Bullring’s history and a look toward its future.
